We built this commercial electric heater to be a workhorse—a high-output shortwave halogen lamp that’s all about speed and control in industrial heating. Think of it as a quartz-tube infrared heater that focuses a ton of power into a small footprint, so you can hit your target fast without turning the whole machine bay into a sauna.
Power, voltage, and size—straight to the point
It runs at 2500W on 400V, which helps lower the current draw compared to lower-voltage options. That means you can use smaller wiring, cut down on energy loss, and take some pressure off the power supply. The tube is 300mm long, which keeps the heat zone tight and predictable. This isn’t a slow, gentle warm-up. It’s high heat density, and that’s the point. Just make sure you’ve got enough airflow or heat sinking in the machine. The lamp body—and nearby parts—need room to stay within safe temperature limits.
What it’s made of—and why it matters
The quartz envelope handles rapid heat-up without cracking under thermal shock, and it stands up to the chemicals you’ll find in most industrial environments. A reflective coating on the tube pushes more infrared energy forward, so more of the heat goes where you need it and less is wasted. And the R7s base? It’s a straight, double-ended connector that gives solid contact and makes the lamp a simple drop-in replacement. Wiring is cleaner, and it stays stable even in tight heater housings.
